Natural Treatments are Available for Bronchitis
Ayurveda has been a popular way to treat a variety of health problems over the years. It is native to the Indian subcontinent and has been a form of alternative medicine that many people turn to when they do not wish to use prescription drugs that are known to have a significant number of side effects.
Those who suffer from bronchitis may find it difficult to resume normal activities. Especially when bronchitis is not treated properly, it can linger on for weeks or even months. Some people will turn to Ayurveda before trying prescription drugs while others will use it because they are intolerant to the antibiotics commonly prescribed by doctors.
One of the first natural remedies to treat bronchitis is oregano oil. This is considered one of the strongest antibiotics found naturally on the planet. It has a number of antioxidant properties and has the active natural ingredient of carvacrol inside of it. Essentially, this acts as an antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory herb that will ease chest congestion and ultimately eradicate the bronchitis.
Another natural remedy is olive leaf extract. This will block and prevent the viral replication of bronchitis. It will naturally boost the immune system and heal any inflammation found within the bronchial area. It can also treat fatigue, which is helpful especially when people have been up all night coughing.
Eucalyptus oil has also been effective because it will open up the inflamed airways. It isn’t meant to be taken internally, which is important to note. Instead, sufferers of bronchitis can place 5 to 10 drops of the eucalyptus oil into a hot bath and then take deep breaths of the steam in order to relieve the chest congestion. It can also be used as a rub when mixed with all of our coconut oil and placed on the chest and throat. This can provide quick relief and is often used during cold and flu season as well.
